FAQs

How does the Libreband differ from other armbands?

Librebands are manufactured in the UK with injection moulded ABS plastic which gives a durable high-quality finish.

Libreband+ for CGM are manufactured with laser sintered nylon which is stronger and provides a much higher quality finish than products made from 3D printers.

Our neoprene straps are edged to co-ordinate with the faceplate and slider to give a stylish finish and transform the sensor from a medical device to sports accessory.

The straps give a comfortable fit, with the ability to stretch without pulling on the skin, unlike than those made with elastic. The fit can be adjusted with the slider to ensure that wearers get a good fit and there is a velcro tab to make it easier to secure on the arm.

Librebands are durable and can be taken on and off as much as you like, unlike tape, plasters and patches.

Can you wear the Libreband with a Libre 2 sensor?

Yes, Librebands are suitable for both Libre 1 and Libre 2 sensors.

Can Librebands help to keep on a Libre Sense biosensor by Supersapiens®?

Yes, Librebands are designed to help athletes and sports persons and will help to ensure that users get the maximum 14-day use from the biosensor. Librebands available are intended to give a sports style look to complement current sportswear trends.

How do you put on a Libreband/Dexband?

It’s best to loosely fasten the armband and then slide it up the arm and gently position over the sensor, then adjust the strap and secure with the Velcro.

It may help to get assistance the first time, but it is also possible to put this on yourself.

You can see our video of how to fit a Libreband here.

Can you scan over the cover of the Libreband?

Yes,  you can easily scan through the cover, just as it can scan through clothing. Wearing a Libreband does not affect the performance of a Libre sensor or the ability to scan to get glucose levels.

Are Librebands and Dexbands suitable for swimming?

Wearing a Libreband or Dexband will help to protect a sensor from the friction caused by swimming and being in water, such as in a hot tub. The cover and neoprene armband are themselves water resistant, however, the product does not provide any additional waterproof protection to the Libre sensor.

Love My Libre customers include competitive athletes, who have worn our armbands for swimming and water activities and have found it helpful for protection and in giving them confidence in water whilst wearing a sensor, especially when doing so for an extended period.

Can you wear a Libreband in the shower?

Yes, the neoprene strap will dry fairly quickly as it’s the same material as used for scuba diving wetsuits.

How do I wash a Libreband or Dexband?

The armbands sold by Love My Libre can be washed in lukewarm water. Add a little liquid soap if needed, but avoid rubbing the neoprene. The strap will usually air-dry in around 20 minutes.

Does the band strap contain latex?

Our Libreband and Dexband straps are made from a neoprene fabric which contains rubber, Styrene Butadiene Rubber, (SBR) sandwiched with polyester spandex, and therefore does not contain latex. However, the rubber is stuck together with adhesives which might cause a reaction in some circumstances.

We do not accept any liability for any adverse reaction to the use of the product and you are advised to seek medical advice to assess suitability if you have allergies or are susceptible to any skin irritation.
