In detail
In March 2026, Tandem confirmed that the Tandem Mobi insulin pump can now be used with compatible Android smartphones through the Tandem Mobi mobile app.
The Android release expands access to the pump beyond iPhone users and allows more people to control pump functions through their phone.
Compatible Android devices include:
• Google Pixel 6 through Pixel 10
• Samsung Galaxy S21 through Galaxy S25
At present, Tandem Mobi is only available in the United States.
What is the Tandem Mobi insulin pump?
Tandem Mobi is designed as a smaller insulin pump that is controlled primarily through a smartphone app. The system supports Tandem’s Control-IQ hybrid-closed loop algorithm and works with compatible CGM sensors to automatically adjust insulin delivery.
When will Tandem Mobi be available in the UK and Europe?
Tandem has already received a CE mark for the Tandem Mobi insulin pump, which allows the device to be marketed in the Europe. However, the system is not yet commercially available anywhere in the region.
Although CE marking confirms that the product meets European regulatory requirements, commercial availability depends on additional steps such as country registrations, distribution arrangements, clinical training and reimbursement approvals.
Tandem has indicated that international rollout of the Mobi platform, outside the United States, is likely to be during 2026 or later.
Which insulin pump from Tandem is currently available in the UK?
The main Tandem insulin pump currently available in the UK is the t:slim X2 pump. It supports Control-IQ hybrid-closed loop technology and smartphone features such as mobile bolus through the Tandem t:slim mobile app.
Does Tandem work with CGM systems?
Yes. Tandem insulin pumps use CGM data to adjust insulin delivery through the Control-IQ hybrid-closed loop algorithm. Tandem has also announced integration between the t:slim X2 pump and the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor.
