Thank you for participating in the quiz!

We had a really strong response to the quiz with over 500 participants.

The correct answers are: 1.D 2.B 3.C 4.A 5.D 6.B 7.C 8.B 9.B 10.D 11.B 12.D

For more details on the right answers please read the below comments. And if you're interested to see how others faired, you can get an idea from the below stats.

There are links to the blogs and Libre Life FREE resources which expand on the topics covered.

Q1. The correct answer was Finland which surprised many participants. India was actually favoured by a high proportion of early entrants but it seems that many of us assume that as rhe USA has such a large population then type 1 diabetes must be most prevalent there. This is not the case, although it is true in relation to type 2 diabetes.

Q2. The correct answer is the pinch test and there's a link to our Libre Life Skin Adhesion and Hydration issue that outlines the test and more tips for keeping a sensor attached.

Dehydration can be an indication that ketone levels are high. For those with type 1 diabetes it's recommended to carry out a ketone test if there are symptoms of dehydration or excessive thirst.

Q3. The correct answer is drinking water. A higher percentage of participants thought that keeping covered up would help keep a sensor stuck. However, keeping fluid levels constantly topped up will make the bigger difference and is important whatever the weather or time of year!

You can read our Top 10 tips to keep your sensor attached here.

Q4. The correct answer is true and this was answered correctly by 2/3rds of participants. The reason is that showering can wash off chemicals which can affect the adhesive used to hold the sensor in place. This is true whether users have been swimming in a pool, open water or the sea.

There's lots of useful information in our Libre Life Swimming Special here.

Q5. The correct answer is the Medical Device Awareness Card and this was the answer give by the majority. Second most popular was a Doctor's letter and this would also be useful for travel and at the airport. It should list all the medication you use and are carrying with you.

Our recent blog entitled 'Can a CGM go through an airport security scanner?' gives the answer to this and addresses lots of other FAQs for travelling with diabetes.

Q6. The correct answer is the GlucoMen Day which was answered correctly by 27% of participants. Over 41% were mistaken in thinking that the FreeStyle Libre 3 does not use a needle to insert a filament.

To evaluate the pros and cons of CGMs available take a look at our blog here.

Q7. The correct answer is Muhammad Ali, the British boxer who became the world's first professional boxer with type 1 diabetes.

Our blog 'I Spy Sensors in the Public Eye' is one of our most popular posts. If you haven't checked out the celebrities with type one diabetes yet, click here.

Q8. The correct answer is 'ability for carers to follow' as this Dexcom ONE does not have this feature.

A slimmed-down version of the G6, we review the Dexcom ONE CGM which will be available on NHS prescription from August 2022. Find out more here.

Q9. The correct answer is false and was correctly answered by 53% of participants. You can get all 10 tips for healthy feet here.

Q10. The correct answer is the Mojito cocktail which will often have over 29 grams of carbohydrate in 1 drink!

A Mojito contains around 25 grams of carbs, whereas a Long Island Iced Teas has 10 grams, a G&T 16 grams and a Pimms just 1 or 2 grams. Find out more in our blog: Cocktails & Carbs!

Q11. The correct answer is false. We explain IP ratings and more about water activities with a sensor in our Libre Life Swimming Special. Click here.

Q12. The correct answer is Nala, the anteater. This was covered in our Diabetes News in June 2022. Keep an eye on our Home page for up-to-date diabetes related news from an independent source.
