Dexcom ONE is now available on prescription through the NHS in the same way as Freestyle Libre so can be done by a Doctor or Diabetes team. This opens up the way for T1Ds to have the choice of 'flash' or CGM (continuous glucose monitor).
Below are the key features to consider when comparing the Dexcom ONE to a Freestyle Libre 2. The main advantage appears to be that there is no need to scan a Dexcom ONE, the readings are directly to a smartphone updating every 5 minutes. There is also a higher waterproof rating for the Dexcom ONE, a fact that many swimmers will be interested to hear!
The main disadvantage, I suggest, is that there is no app for carers to follow users.
