DEXCOM ONE ON PRESCRIPTION

Dexcom ONE is now available on prescription through the NHS in the same way as Freestyle Libre so can be done by a Doctor or Diabetes team. This opens up the way for T1Ds to have the choice of 'flash' or CGM (continuous glucose monitor).

Below are the key features to consider when comparing the Dexcom ONE to a Freestyle Libre 2. The main advantage appears to be that there is no need to scan a Dexcom ONE, the readings are directly to a smartphone updating every 5 minutes. There is also a higher waterproof rating for the Dexcom ONE, a fact that many swimmers will be interested to hear!

The main disadvantage, I suggest, is that there is no app for carers to follow users.

DEXCOM G7 LATEST

Dexcom have announced that the G7 rollout in the USA has been delayed following questions from the FDA and subsequent need for changes to the system's software relating to alerts and alarms. Dexcom are now anticipating a limited launch late in 2022 and a wider launch in 2023.

Dexcom received a CE mark for the European market in March 2022.
